We connect job seekers with UK employers at no cost, and we tailor our support to each person, including CV preparation, interview preparation and help with the start of a new job.

FAQs
Can refugees work in the UK?
Yes. If someone has been granted refugee status in the UK, they have the right to work.
There are no restrictions on the type of work a person with refugee status can do because of their refugee status. They can apply for jobs in the same way as other people with the right to work in the UK.
What about people seeking asylum?
People seeking asylum do not normally have permission to work while they are waiting for a decision on their claim.
However, some asylum seekers may be granted permission to work, depending on their circumstances and how long they have been waiting for a decision. Their permission may also restrict the types of jobs they can take.

We can help you understand what their documentation means and whether our employment support service is right for them.
Who do you mean by care leavers?
A care leaver is a young person who has spent time in the care of a local authority, for example in foster care or a children's home, and has since moved on from that care. We support care leavers aged 18 to 25 who are looking for work.
Do care leavers have the right to work in the UK?
Most care leavers who are British citizens or who have settled status have the right to work without restriction. If a young person came to the UK as a child seeking asylum, their right to work depends on their immigration status, and we can help you understand what their documents mean and whether our service is right for them.
